Basic Control Engineering

The course aims to upgrade the competency of engine personnel in the principles of marine control technology necessary to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair process control systems on board ships.

• explain the fundamentals of process control systems
• apply process control measurement on process control systems on board ships
• apply transmitter and converter functions as needed on process control loops
• analyze the various types of final control elements and their applications on board ships
• explain the function of electronic controllers in process control loops
